Shop Local 2026 Prize Draw Terms and Conditions
By entering the Discover Dursley Shop Local Scheme (“the Scheme”), entrants agree to be bound by the following Terms and Conditions.
1. The Promoter
The Promoter is Dursley Town Council. The lottery is licensed by Stroud District Council under the Gambling Act 2005 (Small Society Lotteries). Registration Number is 26/00055/GASSP.
2. Eligibility
- Entry is open to residents of the UK aged 18 years or over.
- Employees and Councillors of Dursley Town Council, owners/proprietors of participating retail businesses, and their immediate families are not eligible to enter.
- The Promoter reserves the right to verify the eligibility of entrants.
3. Scheme Period
The Scheme opens on 2 March 2026 and closes on 27 November 2026. Completed cards must be received at the designated drop-off points by 12:00 PM on the draw dates (see 5 below).
4. How to Enter
- Loyalty cards are available from participating retailers in Dursley (identified by the display of a Scheme poster).
- Customers will receive one stamp for any single transaction with a value of £5.00 or more.
- Strictly one stamp per transaction. Splitting a purchase into multiple smaller transactions to acquire more stamps is not permitted.
- To enter the prize draw, a participant must collect 8 stamps on a single loyalty card, complete their full name and contact telephone number/email in legibly written text, and deposit the card at Jacob’s House or Dursley Library.
- Incomplete, illegible, or defaced cards will be considered void.
5. The Draws and Prizes
- The Grand Prize Draws will take place on 4th July 2026 and 27th November 2026
- The main prize for the draw that takes place on 4th July 2026 is £100 cash plus a donated hamper of goodies.
- The main prize for the draw that takes place on 27th November 2026 is £200 cash.
- The Promoter may include runner up prizes that have been donated.
- Cumulative Entry: All valid cards received prior to a specific draw date will be entered into that draw. Cards remain in the “pot” for all subsequent draws, regardless of whether they have won a previous prize.
6. Winner Notification
- Winners will be chosen at random from all valid entries received. The draw will be made by putting all the valid entry cards into a drum, or similar. The winner and any runners up will be drawn physically by hand from this.
- Winners will be notified via the contact details provided on the loyalty card within 7 days of the draw.
- If a winner cannot be contacted or does not claim the prize within 14 days of notification, the Promoter reserves the right to withdraw the prize from the winner and pick a replacement winner.
7. Data Protection (GDPR)
- Personal data supplied during the course of this promotion will be processed solely for the administration of the prize draw and to contact the winner(s).
- Personal data will not be shared with third parties or used for marketing purposes other than for winner announcements related to the prize draws.
- All loyalty cards and associated personal data will be securely destroyed immediately following the successful claim of the final Grand Prize.
8. Liability
The Promoter accepts no responsibility for entries not successfully completed due to incomplete, illegible, or defaced cards considered void, a technical fault, technical malfunction, computer hardware or software failure, satellite, network or server failure of any kind.
9. Governing Law
These terms and conditions are governed by English law and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
